Before a client can pay you online, your business needs somewhere for the money to land. On Turnexify that is a Stripe account or a Square account, one of the two, connected from the Payments page in your dashboard.
Which one is better? The honest answer is that they do the same jobs here, and the right one is usually decided by what you already use.
What both of them do
Online payments come with Pro and Business. Whichever you connect, the same things work, the same way:
- Deposits at booking, per service: a fixed amount, a percentage of the price, or the full price.
- The balance and a tip from the client's private link, after the visit.
- A card on file instead of a deposit, with your no-show and late-cancel fees charged to it when they apply.
- Gift cards bought on your site, and seats in your courses.
- Refunds from your dashboard, with a button, not an email to us.
The money goes to the account you connected, not to us. We take no percentage of it. The card fees are your processor's, the same ones you would pay anywhere else.
When Square is the better fit
If you already take cards at the desk with Square, connect Square. Your online deposits and your in-person sales then land in the same account, and there is one set of payouts and one set of reports to look at.
One thing to know: a sale you ring up in Square at the desk stays in Square. Turnexify does not bring it into your dashboard. What comes through Turnexify is what clients pay through Turnexify.
When Stripe is the better fit
If you do not have either yet, Stripe is the simpler start. Its payment page can carry your business's colours, so the step where a client pays looks like the rest of your site. Square's payment page keeps Square's own look.
Changing your mind
You can switch later. Disconnect the account on the Payments page, then connect the other one. Money already taken stays with the account that took it, and a refund on it goes back through that same account, even after the switch. The one time a switch waits is while a client is in the middle of paying.
So which one
Already on Square at the desk: Square. Starting from nothing: Stripe. Either way your clients get the same booking, the same deposit, and the same link, and you can change it without starting over.
